On 25th July my second book ‘Sacred Threads’ will be released.
A month ago I wasn’t planning to bring out a new book, it wasn’t even on my radar. But a quiet nudge came and I couldn’t ignore it… so here we are.
This book feels quite different from ‘The Heart That Knows’, my poetry collection from last year. Sacred Threads is a gathering of contemplative writings… born from presence, from grief, from devotion, from the mystery of being alive.
It’s not a guide or a teaching. It’s not trying to explain anything. It’s more like a companion, something to sit with. Something that might echo what already lives in you.
Many of the pieces have been shared before, on Substack, on social media or in group meetings… some just as they were, some slightly reshaped and edited, and a few are previously unpublished and unheard. But bringing them all together, I began to see an arc I hadn’t planned. A kind of movement that revealed itself only in hindsight.
This past year has been a time of deep listening. Of letting words rise when they wanted to, and fall away when they didn’t. Of trusting what came and giving myself permission to lean into writing more. This book holds some of that.
It doesn’t follow a straight line. It spirals.
From longing → to awakening
From fragmentation → to intimacy
From seeking → to resting
From grasping → to grace
Each chapter is a thread… and together, they make up a tapestry of sorts. Not of something new, but of something quietly remembered. Something that was always there.
This offering isn’t polished or packaged, it’s real. A kind of returning. A kind of prayer.
And if it meets you, may it do so gently.
I will be holding an online celebration in honour of the publication of this book on Friday 25th July at 6:00pm UK on zoom. All are welcome and I will be randomly giving away two copies of the book to those who join the celebration.
